BEAU PLAN - Creative Park

Beau Plan Creative Park : let’s celebrates creativity!

Beau Plan has been welcoming local as well as international artists, writers, photographers and musicians for more than two years.

Since the city is in its development phase, the Creative Park aims to be a platform where people can express their creativity, as well as a place where people of the creative industry can meet, exchange and thrive. This vision has come to life, thanks to the trust and determination of the tenants who have chosen to settle in the Creative Park. Focus on the actors of the Creative Park:

Patrick Mavros: when jewellery is inspired by nature
The Mavros family originates from Zimbabwe and have been making jewellery since the 1980s. Know-how and passion are the main ingredients in the creation of a decorative object or a piece of jewellery for this family brand. Forbes and Kate Mavros, designers for the Patrick Mavros brand, are of opinion that Beau Plan is ‘’an ideal setting, especially the architecture of the old blacksmith workshop.’’ Using mainly silver, white gold and precious stones and drawing its inspiration from the African and Mauritian fauna and flora, the brand is ‘’ proud to offer luxury products to Mauritians and foreigners.’’

African Trader : for the love of African craft
African Trader offers artisanal products from Southern and Eastern Africa, including Madagascar. Products ranges from sculptures made from wood or recycled materials, woven baskets as well as handmade jewellery and accessories. This boutique was set up out of the desire to ‘’promote and preserve African crafts and artisans’’, explain Kate and Forbes Mavros, Managers at Patrick Mavros Atelier. Both are happy to share their passion for Africa with Mauritians and tourists.

L’Atelier des Artisans: transmission as the heart of
L’Atelier des Artisans is a new address which will change our habits. Recently installed at the Creative Park, it, is a creative space aimed at promoting local craft and preserving local know-how. The project was launched by Wheel & Barrow’, an event agency who have diversified its operations. Emmanuel Maujean, who is the founder of this project, explains: ‘’ “We are fortunate to be surrounded by talented craftsmen who know how to work with wood, vacoas, rattan and much more. Through this project, our objective is threefold; firstly, to help the artisans prosper through contacts with a larger clientele; secondly, to inspire them to create products in line with market expectations, thanks to the support of our designers; and finally, to give them the opportunity to pass on their know-how during practical workshops.’’
