I am now ready to be an African leader.
If I had to choose one word to summarise my first year at ALU, it would be: GROWTH.
Starting my university life at ALU after 3 years of high school has been a real challenge, both in my personal and study life. As a single mother, I had to find the perfect balance between my responsibilities as a parent and managing my time to learn.
Looking back, I have to say I am proud of what I have accomplished in only one year.
This very experience started off the best way, I cannot thank for the ALC staff and the upper years for the warmest welcome & support. Not to mention Novaterra who helped me achieve my professional project.
Life at ALU is not only about being in a classroom and submitting assignments. The academic curriculum is crafted in such a way that you develop your personal skills to be ready for the real life and become a leader. I’ve learnt to be empathic to be able to carry out a group project, I also needed to be critical about my own work to always improve my work and get better grades. These skills have been very useful during my internship at Go Meta as an administrative assistant.
But it is not only about grades and studies, ALC caters for your professional life. We often lunch with professionals to grow our network but also share insights of how what we learned at ALU is the most valuable asset for the real work life experience.
I have to say, I never got bored. There is always something to do at the campus, we have organised events, helped the local community and participate in sports & academic competitions.
I am now ready to be an African leader.
The year is already drawing to a close. 2022 has been punctuated by events of all kinds that reflect the dynamism of this city in the making. Let’s look back at the highlights.
With an established leisure offering, residential neighbourhoods that are coming to life and a pleasant and convenient business park, Beau Plan aspires to become the ideal destination for businesses. Shadil Golam Hossen, Sales & Leasing Executive at Novaterra, talks us through the advantages of working in this thriving environment.
As part of the responsible development of the Smart City of Beau Plan, a regional reforestation program has begun. Aligned with Beau Plan’s vision of ensuring development that is sustainable and in harmony with nature instead of against it, the program aims to develop new areas of greenery in Beau Plan and its surroundings.

The end of the year period is always linked to sharing and excitement. Beau Plan is no exception! The Anba Pie festival, held at the Creative Park on November 24, 26 and 27, invited the public to a colourful immersion in the world of local creativity. Let’s take a look.
