Ratnesh Rajcoomar has been Operations Manager at Mahogany Shopping Promenade for five years now, since the gallery first opened! So it is fair to say he knows Beau Plan like the back of his hand. He shares what he loves most about the city.
Can you tell us about your work in Beau Plan?
I am Operations Manager at Mahogany Shopping Promenade in Beau Plan. Among other things, I manage relationships with shop managers and tenants, and ensure that all compliance and safety standards are respected. My goal is to offer a pleasant experience to everyone who comes to visit us and stroll through Mahogany.
What is the first thing that comes to mind in the morning when you arrive here?
Everything needs to be impeccable for the arrival of our customers. And that comes down to a multitude of small details! We are lucky to have such a beautiful setting here in Beau Plan, so we do our very best to live up to it. While perfection may be difficult to achieve, we have the desire to get there and we make sure we have the means to do so.
What is your little secret pleasure in Beau Plan?
When a day is difficult, listening to the sound of the river flowing along the edge of Mahogany, beneath the bridge, brings me a lot of joy. It soothes my mind and clears my thoughts.
I also love watching the sky change colour, evening after evening, shifting from blue to orange and then to pink. Each shade tells its own story. If you have not yet had the pleasure of admiring it, I highly recommend it: come with someone dear to you, or on your own, and bring a book with you. Sit comfortably facing the lake and enjoy the show!

Pains et Moulins! Do I really need to explain why? Fine, let me explain it in one sentence: their pistachio éclair is incredible.
What is the most beautiful aspect of the city in your eyes?
The colours of nature throughout the city, and seeing the royal palms grow at the same pace as the city’s neighbourhoods! It is a real pleasure to see all these new projects blend harmoniously with nature, and to watch the city become a little more dynamic and vibrant every day.
In your opinion, what will Beau Plan look like in 10 years?
Beau Plan will be dynamic and modern… but also peaceful and inclusive! I imagine a smart city where life is truly beautiful.
